Please give us a short summary of your website?
Our website offers complete information on the pressure washers and power washers that we manufacture. We have a full line of equipment for industrial cleaning using power washers. We also offer a line of waste water capture and recycle systems that allow you to reuse waste water generated by the use of a pressure washer.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We launched our website so that we could spread the word about our high quality pressure washers, recycle systems and the accessories that go with them.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This website is my first website launch.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I used the name of the company as the name for the website. Several other ideas using the terms pressure washer and power washer were considered, but in the end the owner of the company opted to use the company name to help build brand recognition.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
We offer a variety of technical helps and engineering drawings to assist the end user in troubleshooting and repair.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Someday we would like to offer our full line of repair parts to be ordered via an online shopping cart.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We invest a great deal of time, energy and money in the engineering of our product. This helps make it the best on the market place.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would offer 3-D views of our machines and a complete selection of how to videos.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
If our site got too big we would bring in additional help to maintain it.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Search Engine Optimization has been quite a challenge.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Keep up with changing specifications and new product releases.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Word of mouth and advertising in the trade magazines for the pressure washer industry.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is not as easy to do as I thought. Gaining higher ranking on search engines is not as easy as I once thought.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Our site has been up for a few years. It will continue to be up and running as long as the company is in business.
What makes Hydro Tek so special?
Our pressure washers are made with a lot of stainless steel. This gives us an edge over the competition since stainless steel does not corrode and our power washers are used in a wet environment it is important that they have as much corrosion resistance as possible. Stainless steel also just looks great.
