The city of Pacifica will pay $2.3 million fine imposed by the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board for discharging partially treated sewage with rainwater in the Pacific Ocean during a rainstorm in January of last year.
The storm overwhelmed the Calera Creek Water Recycling Plant which resulted to discharging 100,000 gallons worth of raw human waste.
City officials don't agree with the size of the fine and claims that the sewage were disinfected before it was release into the ocean. More details on insidebayarea.com, link below
